9 cwsg i fynd!
Only
9 sleeps to go. We're hope you are as excited as we are.
Friday 4th December
Pupils are to arrive at school
for 8.30 as normal. They do not need to wear their school uniform,
however they will need their fob if they wish to buy lunch from the canteen. Alternatively, they may bring a packed lunch.
Staff will be on hand in the morning to direct pupils to the luggage storage room. Bags will be kept here until our departure. Medium suitcase/bag please – there are 40 pupils and 5 staff to fit on the bus. Pupils may also want a small bag to take on board the bus to carry medications, money, personal items etc.
If your child’s sleeping bag does not
fit inside their main bag, it will need to be brought on board the bus.
Please do not tie it to the handles of their suitcase.
Pupils will attend lesson 1-3 as
normal. We will depart after lunch. If your child suffers from
travel sickness, please ensure that they know when to take medication before the journey.
Travel sickness medication will also be required for the return
journey. Please ensure that this is clearly labelled with your child’s
name and the necessary dosage.
No food and drink will be allowed on the coach as several pupils have severe nut allergies. We will make a brief comfort stop at Pont Abraham services M4, and will arrive at camp in time for tea. Journey time approx 3 hours.
Food
There are 4 meals a day with all
allergies and special diets catered for (these pupils will be given special
passes). Please ensure that you have informed us of any dietary
requirements prior to departure. Squash and water is always freely available
to pupils.
Money
£25 will be more than sufficient pocket
money (please do not feel you have to bring this amount). There is a small shop
on site with sweets and gifts. Staff will run a ‘bank’ daily. A supply of coins
will help – change can be in short supply.
Packing list
A packing list can be found HERE
Mobile phones and valuables
If your child brings a mobile phone, we
will collect it and pupils will be allowed a short session daily to phone home
if they want to. However we cannot be responsible for any other items
brought to camp.
Medications
We are happy to look after any medications
your child may need during the week. Please ensure all medicines are
clearly labelled with your child’s name and the relevant dosage. Please
ensure that your child has an adequate supply of any medication that they may
need for the week (e.g. full asthma inhaler). Please remind pupils that
they are not to offer medication to another pupil.
Keep in touch!
Rest assured that ‘no news is good
news’. If you need to get a message to us or your child, your best option
will be to contact the camp directly via phone (01239 652140) or email Llangrannog@urdd.org.
We will be blogging and tweeting about
our adventures. Keep up to date with our news on Twitter (@cymraegccs) or
via our dedicated ‘llangrannoblog’ at www.llangrannblog.blogspot.co.uk.
Behaviour
We want your child to have the very
best time in camp and we are all looking forward to their company. Please
discuss behaviour with them before going, as we are acting on your behalf as
parents while they are in our care. Every year we are commended on the
behaviour of our pupils, and this is a tradition that we are keen to maintain.
